Keep Documentary Accessible: Donate and Support Side

Support Us

The AmberSide Trust (Charity Number: 1160760) is the charity body responsible for the AmberSide Collection, AmberEducation, Amber Films, and Side. We are dedicated to preserving and showcasing documentary photography and filmmaking that reflect social concerns and community life, and using arts and photography as education tools for the creative industry, social history, and community heritage.

As a registered charity, we rely on the generosity of individuals, sponsors, trusts, and foundations to continue our mission. Your support enables us to present compelling exhibitions, run educational projects, and preserve our collection for the future.

Terms & Conditions

The AmberSide Trust recognises a fundamental responsibility to protect the integrity of the AmberSide Collection and of the work, by Amber Film & Photography Collective or others which draws on, extends it, or engages its values.

The AmberSide Trust will only accept work for deposit in the AmberSide Collection where there is a clear logic for its inclusion:

  • where it is generated through the production, commissioning or exhibition activity of Side / Amber Films;

  • where it has been created out of similar concerns and thematic territories as work we currently hold; or where it is considered to be representative of gaps within our current collection which the Side curatorial team are currently looking to expand;

  • where it can be used in the work of Side, Amber Films, AmberEducation or in our online programming and can be made accessible to the wider public.

Our collection has limited space available for deposits and The AmberSide Trust reserves the right to refuse a proposed donation even where it could be justified under any of the above principles.

We do not accept physical submissions unless requested by The AmberSide Trust directly, work for submission should be sent digitally for review. If the work is of interest the team will be in contact with you. If you do not hear back from us unfortunately your work has not been accepted for inclusion in our collection at this time.
