Eden Valley is a feature drama set within the harness racing community of North East England. The film explores the conflict between urban and rural values through the evolving relationship between an inner-city teenager, Billy, and his estranged father, Hoggy, who left the family a decade earlier to live in a caravan and care for his horses.

This production emerged from Amber's long-term engagement with the harness racing fraternity, which began during the making of Seacoal in the mid-1980s. The Laidler family, prominent figures in both films, introduced Amber to the world of harness racing and encouraged the collective to purchase their first horse. This immersion provided authenticity to the narrative, blending professional and non-professional actors to depict the community's dynamics.

Amber's founding member, Murray Martin, became deeply involved in the harness racing world in North East England. His relationship with this community is further explored in The Pursuit of Happiness (2008), made after his death in 2007. Eden Valley stands as a testament to Amber's commitment to authentic storytelling, reflecting the complexities of familial bonds and cultural identities within a unique subculture.
