Folk Film Gathering joins with Grassmarket Community Picture House to present this independent film about the decline of the North Shields fishing industry.

Produced by the Amber Collective, this project saw the team buy a 63-foot boat to live and work alongside North Shields fishermen for two years. Scripted by Tom Hadaway, it captures the raw reality of the fishing industry as it faced decline. By sending actors into a Force 9 gale to learn the trade, the project fused narrative drama with a permanent, gritty record of a vanishing working-class life.
