We are teaming up with Live Theatre, to mark the re-release of the publication Writing in the Sand by Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen - a stunning photographic project capturing vibrant beach life in the North East of England. 

The event will begin with a 45-minute film screening of the lyrical The Writing In The Sand (1991) by Peter Roberts and Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen, evoking the magic of an urban family’s day out with Konttinen’s black and white photographs and a remarkable soundtrack.

This will be followed by an onstage Q&A with the acclaimed photographer and Side Creative Director, Ellen Stone.

Also included will be a book signing of this very special publication.
