50x50: fundraising print sale

We are the UK’s only arts organisation dedicated to documentary photography and film rooted in working-class life. Since 1977 we have championed bold, human stories from the North East and far beyond.

This Bank Holiday we launch the 50x50 Print Sale. Fifty artists, including Amber’s own Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen and Richard Grassick, celebrity photography names like Rankin and Sam Taylor-Johnson, and acclaimed voices such as Daniel Meadows, Alys Tomlinson and Sunil Gupta, have each contributed a single image. Every photograph is available in an edition of fifty, priced at just £50, and produced to the highest archival standard.

Every sale directly supports the AmberSide Trust. Your purchase funds new community projects, cares for the UNESCO-registered AmberSide Collection, sparks future collaborations and keeps documentary photography alive and accessible in the North East. Once an edition sells out it is gone forever, so this is your chance to own something extraordinary and play a part in sustaining this vital work.
