50x50 is a special print sale launching this August Bank Holiday weekend in exclusively at Side Gallery in Newcastle, and online from 25 August.

We’ve invited photographers from across the UK and beyond to contribute one image in support of Side Gallery. Each image is printed in a limited edition of 50 prints, sold at £50 each.

The sale brings together work that reflects the documentary tradition Side stands for - images that are direct, reflective, political, personal and rooted in the real. Names include local photographers, members of the Amber Film and Photography Collective, alongside iconic international names.

Money raised will go to supporting Side’s ongoing work: this includes care for our UNESCO registered photographic collection, future exhibitions, and continued public access to documentary photography.

Prints will be made to order through trusted production partners and come with a certificate of authenticity. A single copy of each image will be preserved in the Side Gallery archive.

This is a chance to collect powerful photography and support the future of a space that has always been shaped by its community - one print at a time.
