Do you have memories of Newcastle’s Quayside? Did you visit the Sunday market, work along the river, spend time in its pubs, clubs or music venues? Were you part of the communities that lived or traded there?

We are collecting personal stories about the Quayside’s past and present. From market stalls and riverside industries to floating nightclubs like the Tuxedo Princess, this area has been shaped by centuries of trade, nightlife, protest, and everyday life. Whether your memories come from the working day or a night out, a walk by the Tyne or a life spent beside it, we would like to hear from you.

This drop-in event invites you to contribute your story to the AmberSide collection. Your memories will help deepen public understanding of the Quayside and support future exhibitions, educational work, and publications.

No booking is required. Just come along and speak with our team. All are welcome.
