MySide brings together photography from Side Gallery’s international community. With the work on display responding to two themes: Documenting the Self and Places That Made Us.

Through an open call, we invited photographers to share something personal. The submissions reflect how people see themselves, and the spaces, streets and memories that have shaped their lives. The photographs are intimate and honest, offering glimpses into daily routines, quiet moments, family life and landscapes both familiar and distant. Together, they form a wider conversation about how people live, remember and belong.

Alongside the photographs, the exhibition includes quotes and reflections from the photographers themselves. These texts offer insight into their lives, their influences, and their reasons for documenting the world around them.

MySide is about opening up space for many perspectives. It is about how people choose to look at their own lives, and what they want to show the world. This exhibition doesn’t follow a single viewpoint. Instead, it offers a series of honest contributions, each one rooted in lived experience, to help us understand life today.

A curatorial tour of both the Our Side and My Side exhibitions will take place on Saturday 23rd August at 4pm. No booking required.
